Bentley Continental GT Speed

A Bentley Built To Dance

-

ABentley is never short of speed, and the new Continental GT Speed is the ultimate performance-focused interpretation of a luxury Grand Tourer.

The acclaimed first generation Continental GT Speed appeared in 2007, and the third generation now continues the bloodline. Dr. Matthias Rabe, Member of the Board for Engineering at Bentley Motors, comments: “The world’s most luxurious Grand Tourer is now truly more capable than ever before, with a new sportier edge which will appeal to performance-focused drivers. The Speed is the latest chapter in the Continental GT story, helping Bentley customers to create their own extraordinary journeys.”

The Continental GT Speed is a big boy, and new electronic all-wheel steering enhances its dynamic nature. In Sport mode, the steering combines with Bentley Dynamic

Ride and an electronic limited slip differential for a level of agility unlike any other Bentley.

At low and medium speeds, the GT Speed’s front and rear wheels steer in the opposite direction for a rapid change of direction with increased nimbleness and steering feel. At high speeds, the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the front, enhancing stability.

Active all-wheel drive recalibrates traction control and torque distribution for a noticeable character shift. Progressive, secure, and yet still dynamic, this approach rewards drivers of all abilities.

The introduction of an electronic rear differential (ELSD) for the first time improves stability and enhances on-throttle adjustability with better traction in adverse road conditions. Expect the GT Speed to be more adjustable and driver-focussed than ever before without compromising comfort or stability.

Bentley dynamic ride uses electric motors to keep the body level. Improved cornering dynamics and grip allows the driver to exit any corner with an increased level of precision and confidence to deliver stunning acceleration and composure from the apex.

The ultimate performance-focused expression of Bentley’s Grand Tourer, its uprated 6.0-litre W12 TSI engine delivers 659 PS (650 bhp) and an extraordinary 900 Nm (664 lb.ft) of torque for a top speed of 335 km/h. The century sprint takes just 3.6 seconds.

The dual-clutch, eight-speed transmission shift is twice as fast in Sport mode in keeping with the Speed’s ethos, and is complemented by a greater exhaust character during start-up and downshifts.

Clearly stamped on the muscular bodywork, the statement of intent is now amplified further with unique exterior detailing for a powerful, athletic stance. Speed models add a Dark Tint radiator grille and lower bumper grille, more sculpted sports sills, a Dark Tint radiator matrix and discreet Speed badging in chrome on the front fender. Another signature feature is the 22” Speed wheels in bright silver, and jewel versions of the fuel and oil filler caps are standard.

Inside, the cabin showcases handcrafted materials with trim and badging found only in the Speed. Credentials are further highlighted by a unique duotone colour split handcrafted in hide and Alcantara, with a choice of 15 main and 11 secondary hide colours. The centre console can be finished in new dark tint engine turned aluminium for a geometrically perfect machined surface.

With four seats and grand touring luggage capacity of 358 litres, the Continental GT Speed is packed with exquisite detail, a technologically advanced instrument panel and the Bentley rotating display. This new driver-focused model widens the Continental GT’S performance credentials.
