The African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) announced ExecuJet South Africa’s Lanseria facility new dedicated business aviation conference, exhibition and static display, AfBAC EXPO. The 18,000-sqm facility includes a 9,000-sqm hangar with space to accommodate more than 30 aviation suppliers’ booths. Up to 20 aircraft with accompanying marquees will be displayed on the private apron. The AfBAC EXPO will take place in November.

The NBAA registered its support for a letter by more than 100 American business leaders opposing control (ATC). The letter was addressed to US House and Senate leaders, and many of the senders are pilot-CEOs. “Based on [these American business leaders’] unique perspective, they have all concluded that privatizing our nation’s ATC system and turning it over to a private board represents a risk that we simply cannot take,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. Bolen had previously issued a statement calling for a focus on ATC modernisation instead of privatisation.
At an AsBAA community meeting at the SkyPark FBO at the Subang airport in Malaysia, Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA) emphasised its support of business aviation both in the country and in the ASEAN region. The DCA also underlined the importance of leveraging ASBAA in order to improve safety and airworthiness standards in the industry in Malaysia. At the meeting were AsBAA governors Tan Sri Ravindran Menon and Emil Pope, along with more than 30 industry stakeholders.
Honeywell successfully completed a two-year testing program with NASA to demonstrate the integration of predictive sonic boom software and display technology into business jet cockpits. The program is aimed at mitigating sonic booms over populated areas using an interface display that shows may experience sonic booms.
