#Legend

Star-struck

- STEPHEN SHORT MANAGING EDITOR

SUCCESS IN THE entertainment world, especially for child stars, can be a doubled-edged sword. American pop goddess Demi Lovato who fronts our cover, is finding her stride as she seeks to reinvent herself. In this candid and poignant interview from a music studio in New

York, where our dazzling shoot took place, she chats candidly about hitting No. 1 (again!), her latest album and her new tell-all YouTube documentary, in which she comes clean about the past.

Fashion looms large. Both our director and editor Kim Bui Kollar and Kieran Ho venture out in search of capital style inspiration. We feature their round-ups of the best, most elegant and edgiest from the New York, London, Paris and Milan runways, where this season's buzzwords were unicorn, Thom Browne and full-on diversity. We venture to Prada's new Rong Zhai villa development in Shanghai for an exclusive first look at the newly renovated historic property, now reinvented as a cultural platform by the always-pioneering Miuccia Prada.

And #legend co-founder and creative director Gordon Lam has the time of his life on a baptismal visit to Florence as a VVIP guest of watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne, on the launch of its 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar Handwerkskunst.

Next-gen talent is featured, too. On the trail of youth, we meet two Hong Kong creatives on the verge of their collective moment. There's Tien Chong, singer, about to drop a debut album backed by Apple; she cites the late British chanteuse Amy Winehouse as an influence on her soulful, breathless style. And in fashion, three Hong Kong Polytechnic University fashion design students interview Arto Wong, the city's Young Designer Competition 2017 award winner, about her inspirations, fashion's immediate future in the tall, small city and the prospects of a local Hong Kong brand's global domination in a digitally 'grammable world.

Have talent, will travel. Deputy editor Stephanie Ip transports us to the French Riviera for the Cannes Yachting Festival before heading to Sarnico for more of the dreamy life aquatic, aboard the salubrious surrounds of Feretti Group yachts. From the waves, she finds her wings back in Hong Kong and heads to Vietnam on a private jet, an audience with VistaJet company visionary Thomas Flohr, and kisses Aman's latest Amanoi resort on the way past.

Wax to receive, marble to retain. Enjoy the moment.
