READY, JETTY, GO
GRACE BAUDY, our featured photographer, goes hunting for Hong Kong’s most-snapped mini pier
IT’S MORE OF a swimming shed, but it's been photographed so often it's earned itself the nickname Instagram Pier. “It's supposedly one of the rarest ones remaining in Hong Kong, dating back to the 1950s,” Grace tells #legend. Armed with her camera, she took the MTR to Kennedy Town, then a short minibus ride (number 58) to the location. “I had to shout to the driver as I approached my stop, nearly missing it as there wasn't any clear indication, just a white sign in Chinese – and I can't read Chinese, unfortunately,” she recalls. A long flight of stairs takes you down to a green swimming shed, where you'll see the now-iconic jetty. A few mosquito bites sustained, sure – but overall, a worthwhile expedition.
