RACHELLE ANN GO

-

Stars rarely transcend the lure of celebrity, but Rachelle Ann Go left behind the glamour of Philippine show business to pursue her dreams on a different stage—the theater. Her career in the country was in full swing with numerous albums and concerts both locally and internationally, but a desire to build her craft and pursue her passion led to a fated audition for the West End Theatre’s revival of Miss Saigon in London. Go bagged the role of Gigi Van Tranh, earning her a coveted blessing from no less than Lea Salonga. While living alone was a struggle for Go, she played Gigi for a purposeful year sharing, “I want to learn more from my peers about acting, singing in character and dancing. I am so inspired to continue my work in musical theatre on the West End stage.”

Go makes Filipinos beam with pride as she plays her newest role as Fantine in Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables. Off character, Go sends a message to dreamers everywhere saying, “I hope my work inspires my fellow Filipinos to work hard for their dreams. I’ve been dreaming since I was a kid… all you have to do is believe in your dreams.”—AL
