Grand Prix d’horlogerie de Genève
Finishing the year on a high note, the Grand Prix d’horlogerie de Genève ( GPHG) is widely regarded as the Oscars of the watch industry, in which awards are given to fine timepieces in 18 categories, as well as a Grand Jury. 2019’ s ceremony awarded the coveted Aiguille d’or Grand Prix to Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra- Thin. The Ladies’ Watch prize went to the Chanel J12 Calibre 12.1 and the jewellery award went to Bulgari’s Serpenti Misteriosi Romani. For this year’s grand prix, the 20th staging, an Academy comprising roughly 500 individuals from various backgrounds submit their selections to the Foundation, as well as taking part in the voting. A special exhibition of all past winners of the Aguille d’or is also held at both Watches & Wonders and Baselworld. gphp. org
