UNDERSTATED LUXURY

-

Established four years ago, and offering comprehensive services ranging from design and material sourcing, to renovation and home inspection, PI CONCEPT is an interior design company that is a one-stop interior solution provider.

“The name of our firm, PI CONCEPT, comes from the mathematical constant π. We want to express that we have an infinite amount of ideas and concepts,” explains Terence Wong, Design Director at PI CONCEPT. “In the four years that we've been in business, we have done over 50 projects including residential units, offices and retail stores. To offer maximum help to our clients, we often accompany them to select materials or purchase furniture and appliances. In addition, we have our own in-house home renovation team, as well as certified home inspectors, which means we can provide home inspection services when needed.”

Wong thinks that Hong Kong's highdensity housing situation provides a lot of opportunities for interior designers to unleash their creativity. Echoing the company's approach to design and ‘create infinite possibilities within the framework provided by the client', Wong explains, “Hong Kong's property prices is one of the most expensive in the world, so we usually try to make the most of every inch of space when we design residential units and we tend to prefer built-in or collapsible furniture. We like to incorporate a variety of design elements in each project so to give it more dimension and versatility.”

Speaking of the firm's award-winning project, Wong recalls his experience with a penthouse special unit at The Wings, a housing estate in Tseung Kwan O. As the home owner is a wheelchair user, the design team at PI CONCEPT had put in a ramp in the home to facilitate easy access. Creating a sense of understated luxury, the home features a white palette, with white marble in the living room and the dining room and champagne gold steel in the corridor. To provide contrast, the flooring and closet in the master bedroom are made with wooden materials, adding a natural and cozy atmosphere to the space.

PI CONCEPT places great importance to the preparations done before starting a project. “To help the client fully understand our design concept, we present them an extremely detailed hand-drawn plan. I believe we are one of the few design firms that still draw plans by hand.” Wong says.
