Le Peak, C’est Chic!

Discover the delicious new restaurants making Peak Galleria the pinnacle of Hong Kong dining destinations

-

HONG KONG DESTINATIONS don’t come much more iconic than Victoria Peak – and now, thanks to the recently reopened Peak Galleria, there are plenty of great new restaurants delivering food that’s every bit as spectacular as those majestic skyline views. It’s great news if you’re a keen hiker, too, as it’s perfect for enjoying breakfast or lunch after a stroll with friends, family or your pets.

Designed to make the most of its magnificent location, the renovated Peak Galleria features a striking curved gem-like entrance – an ultra-modern, all-glass façade that allows an abundance of natural light to stream inside, meaning visitors can bask in the changing seasons and natural surroundings. In addition to its much-loved rooftop, which boasts glorious panoramic views across the city, Peak Galleria is now home to over 60 exciting international and local brands – including confectionary heaven at speciality sweet store Candylicious, the world’s first Monopolythemed attraction Monopoly Dreams, and Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory’s delicious new concept Cow Cow Kitchen.

With an extensive range of all-day dining venues too, there really is something for every palate – including vibrant Anglo-Indian cuisine at Rajasthan Rifles, one of the latest offerings from Black Sheep Restaurants. Headed up by executive chef Palash Mitra of the group’s award-winning tandoor grill-house New Punjab Club, Rajasthan Rifles is inspired by the cuisine of 1920s’ army mess halls, a distinctively delicious mash-up of British and Indian dining.

Signatures here include Keema Anda Pau, a dish worth getting messy for featuring luscious slow-cooked spiced mutton designed to be scooped onto soft buttered milk buns; crispy breaded chicken cutlet, a spin on the ever-popular Kabiraji cutlet found in social clubs throughout the subcontinent; and the Rajasthan Rifles club sandwich, generously filled with chicken tikka, masala omelette, tomato chutney and Welsh cheddar cheese.

Hopping across the continents to the United Kingdom, Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen & Bar dishes up authentic, unpretentious British cuisine with modern European influences. Traditional British favourites take centre stage here, with highlights including beef Wellington, fish and chips, sticky toffee pudding, and apple pie and custard.

Heading up The Peak for a morning hike? Fuel up with Bread Street’s breakfast; the venue opens at 8am, serving hearty dishes like a full English breakfast with all the trimmings, and freshlycooked pancakes with berry compote and vanilla cream. Both Rajasthan Rifles and Bread Street Kitchen feature breezy alfresco terraces, ideal for soaking up those stunning vistas.

Carnivore connoisseurs will be thrilled by the arrival of

Roppongi hotspot 37 Steakhouse & Bar; dedicated to showcasing the finest cuts of meat, all their steaks are expertly cooked in a lava rock grill to enhance the meat’s rich natural flavour. Guests will be spoilt for choice with a steak selection that includes Hiyama Wagyu (supplied by celebrated Japanese butcher Hiyama and renowned for its exquisite grain and marbling), USDA Black Angus and dry-aged prime Belgian beef.

Be sure to stop by their beautiful bar area for a tipple from their extensive Sawaya Matsumoto sake collection; produced in small batches at a family-run, 230-year old brewery, these sakes strike the perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

Meanwhile, those with a sweet tooth will discover dessert nirvana at Mina House. Its eight-seat live dessert station brings a touch of theatre to proceedings, with diners enjoying ring-side seats for the creation of picture-perfect dessert delicacies. Sweet signatures here include Napoleon Revolution, a deconstructed mango mille-feuille with delightfully featherlight pastry, and Chocolate Texture, which highlights multiple intensities of sinful Valrhona chocolate.

For even more indulgence, Mina House’s decadent dessert freeflow option sees over 20 stunning desserts served table-side from decorated dessert trollies, with dozens of Instagram-worthy treats like tiramisu shooters and hazelnut praline glass balls to feast on.

With truly unbeatable panoramas, a wealth of shopping and entertainment brands, and top-class cuisine to satisfy every craving, Peak Galleria is truly a dining destination worth savouring.
