Mandarin Grill offers a variety of steakhouse classics in a contempora­ry setting, where diners will find a relaxed, inviting space decorated with plush furnishing­s and warm hues that contrast sharply with the crisp white tablecloth­s. For starters, the wild Hereford steak tartare is nicely balanced, while the lobster bisque truly shines with its rich, creamy seafood base. Prepared on a charcoal grill, the 32oz US Linz Heritage Angus 45-day dry-aged rib-steak (for two) highlights the natural flavour of the beef. Servers are friendly, knowledgea­ble and attentive without being intrusive. The wine list is expansive, with labels from well-known wine-producing countries such as France, New Zealand and the US, in addition to more boutique labels from Slovakia and Morocco, although we would suggest keeping an eye on the rotating by-the-glass options.
