Grand Café

HK$700 per person

There’s a reason Grand Café has been around for 30 years—it knows how to keep up with the times. Chef Patrick McDermott took over the all-day dining venue’s menu in 2018, continuing its tradition of East-meets-West dishes while throwing in some new offerings; think of it as upscale diner cuisine. The Spanish porchetta is a crowd-pleaser,

featuring an adequately crispy pork stomach topped with a mustard-like sauce and lemon for a tangy kick. The Hainanese chicken, often touted as one of the best in the city, lives up to the hype. While the cafe’s wine and spirits list isn’t as extensive as other hotel restaurants, it makes up for it with a creative cocktail menu—the Gimlet, made with infused cucumber, is a great boozy refreshment option. Located in the Grand Hyatt lobby and renovated in 2016, the decor matches the menu’s all-day dining concept. Thanks to its clean geometric lines, floor-to-ceiling windows and minimalist furniture, there’s a welcoming vibe whether you’re visiting for lunch or dinner.
