Mama San

-

HK$450 per person

Helmed by Will Meyrick—touted as

“the street food chef”, Mama San on Wyndham Street is a succession of the popular sister restaurant of the same name in Bali. The plush interiors exude elegance with dark woods and leather sofas, matched with dim lighting and an eye-catching wall painting of Mama San herself. The menu is pan-Asian with a focus on authentic flavours from the region, ranging from Thai and Indian to Vietnamese and Indonesian. Don’t miss the slow-braised Indonesian rendang beef short rib, which features a plate of flavourful, meltingly tender beef that’s best paired with steamed jasmine rice. Turn to dessert and make sure you save room for the chocolate ganache tart with coconut ice cream and the Kampung Snickers (peanut butter parfait)— both of which are rich and creamy, but worth the indulgence. There is an adequate selection of wine by the glass on offer, and service remains friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
