Samsen

-

HK$300 per person

In a city where inconsistency often trips up even the best of restaurants, Samsen is a leader in keeping their standards high day in, day out. A tiny noodle bar at its core, this isn’t a place to expect too many frills— but you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality of what’s on offer, be it the signature wagyu beef noodles (soft, silky noodles imported from Bangkok swimming in a rich, fortified broth and topped with tender beef slices, brisket and meatballs) or the fluffy wok-fried crab omelette that seems positively inflated with chunks of the crustacean. Come with a small crew and share the other excellent dishes, from the son-in-law eggs (fried hard-boiled eggs served with a sticky chilli jam) to the morning glory stir-fried with fermented tofu. Save room, always, for the coconut dumplings.
