This award-winning bar is one of the slickest in town, run expertly by the crack team of mixologists who previously trained at the original bar in New York City. Getting to PDT is a small adventure in itself, where guests first navigate the busy floor of MO Bar, ascend the staircase to the mezzanine level, and then enter a phone booth lined with velvet curtains. Press the right number and you’ll be invited through the doors into a luxe speakeasy where the drinks are strong and deftly made, with imaginative flavour combinations and served in beautiful glassware. Cheeky concoctions such as Paddington build on the classics; in this case, the breakfast martini is given a riff with orange marmalade. On the food side, culinary director Richard Ekkebus curates a satisfying menu of high-end hotdogs and tater tots to soak up the booze.
