LOBSTER BAR & GRILL

-

The Lobster Bar & Grill’s menu offers few surprises—but with seafood this good, who’s complaining? Tried-and-trusted classics like lobster bisque, crab cakes and sea bass with meuniere sauce do not require any unnecessary bells and whistles; simply premium ingredients, cooked excellently. The restaurant’s lounge-style décor adds further to the ambience of old-school charm that the Island Shangri-La does so well, with traditional armchairs, patterned wallpaper and the sounds of a live jazz band from 8pm. The wine list is admirably extensive in terms of origin, price and serving size, with helpful tasting notes given in the menu; sadly, the same cannot be said for the service on the night we visit, with dishes arriving at our table without introduction or explanation, meaning we have to keep calling waiters back to ask what certain elements are. Nevertheless, the superb quality of the ingredients matched with the pleasantly relaxed atmosphere make this a reliable choice for any

seafood lover.
