WOOLOOMOOLOO PRIME

-

In a city not exactly short on steakhouses, it takes something special to stand out—and at Wooloomooloo Prime, located on the 21st floor of Tsim Sha Tsui’s

The One mall, it is most definitely the views. The décor—dark, earthy, anonymous—allows the dazzling harbour vistas do all the talking, and so wise diners should arrive early to enjoy a sunset drink on the restaurant’s alfresco terrace. The steak menu comprises many prime cuts, mostly from Australia; our succulent filet mignon, both on its own and within a wellexecuted beef Wellington, is cooked to a perfect pink in the middle and the selection of sides is excellent. However, starters and desserts are a mixed bag and the sauces for the steak are mostly unpalatable. The wine list is lengthy and comprehensive, with both old and new world regions covered and a range of serving sizes available. Sadly, service is a let down, with orders forgotten, dishes unexplained and staff difficult to flag down; luckily, with those incredible views to soak up, the meal is still an enjoyable one.
