Tatler Dining Guide - Hong Kong
GUINCHO A GALERA
Guincho a Galera departs from the sheer luxury of the Lisboa hotel complex, which is replaced by understated yet subtle stylish interiors, where natural light graces the establishment by day, and warm lighting by night, creating an inviting ambiance to enjoy an authentic experience of Portuguese dining. The meal begins with a display of traditional breads; the cheese and Portuguese sausage bread and soft rolls with homemade banana butter are particularly unique and of remarkable quality. Guests can expect top-quality ingredients adopted into the restaurant’s signature dishes, executed with finesse. Start with a simple seafood salad with abalaone in herb dressing, or the deep-fried salt cod with scrambled egg and asparagus that is prepared tableside by the chefs themselves. Meaty mains are popular at Guincho a Galera, particularly the roasted suckling pig and the royal duck rice, which are arguably the best examples of such dishes found in Macau. Save room for desserts, which are rather large—we enjoyed the signature cherry clafoutis with ice cream.
