Piaggio India rolls out new Aprilia SR 150 from Baramati plant

-

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL) has rolled out the new Aprilia SR 150 from its plant in Baramati. Its arrival was announced at the New Delhi Motor Show in February this year. With Aprilia SR 150, Piaggio aims to carve out a new category of crossover bikes in India’s booming two-wheeler market.

Available in matte black and white, Aprilia SR 150 has a powerful 150 cc engine and tubeless wider sport street tyres, reflecting the sporty feel of the brand. The design of the bike is appealing with the sensation of a sports bike coupled with the convenience of an automatic scooter for daily commuting. The distinct, sporty handlebar with integrated turn indicator lights and twin pod analogue unit for the speedometer are designed to be easily readable while zipping in and out of traffic. The steel frame structure of the bike provides higher rigidity while delivering unmatched manoeuvrability. “The roll-out of the first India made Aprilia SR 150 is indeed a proud moment for us here at the Piaggio group. It is one of its kind from the Aprilia stable, especially since this bike is customised for the Indian market and produced locally. The crossover segment in India is in its nascent stage and we are yet to see its full potential. With Aprilia SR 150 we aim to capitalise on this opportunity. Aprilia worldwide is known for its racing heritage and we have packed some of the superbikes abilities like performance and handling in this compact SR 150,” Stefano Pelle, Managing Director and CEO, PVPL, said.

The Aprilia SR 150 will be available through Piaggio’s dealership network in the country and its Motoplexes across Pune, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad. Prebookings for Aprilia SR 150 are also available through Paytm.com
