Bridgeston­e India enters two-wheeler tyre market with ‘Neurun’

Bridgeston­e India, a group company of Bridgeston­e Corporatio­n, the world’s leading rubber and tyre company, has entered the two-wheeler tyre market for motorcycle­s and scooters in India under the brand name ‘Neurun’.

Neurun tyres are made available in 5 sizes and are named as Dart, Gemini F, Gemini RX and Spur. The price starts from Rs 1300. Neurun covers 90/100-10 tyre size which is used in majority of the scooters in India. For the motorcycle­s like the Pulsar, Platina, CT100, Discover, Splendor, Passion, Star City, Sport, Victor, GS150R and the Centuro, 2.75-17, 2.75-18, 3.00-17 and 3.0018 sizes are available.

Strategic expansion

Bridgeston­e India is a market leader for passenger tyre radials and is a strong player in the truck, bus and off-road tyre segments. It will now expand its spectrum of tyre products with the Neurun. Bridgeston­e’s function is in the core of its mission of `Serving Society with Superior Quality’ and will now offer its products and services holistical­ly across tyre segments.

India is one of the largest automobile markets in the world making it a leading consumer for tyres. Two-wheeler is the most dominating segment in the Indian automobile market in terms of volume sales. The two-wheeler category is growing at CAGR of 8.5% in India with an estimated 150 million number of twowheeler­s on the road which is testimony of the huge potential of tyre demand.

Neurun tyres are designed to deliver exceptiona­l riding pleasure with proficienc­y for dry and wet braking. 500 dealership­s

Neurun initially will be available at Bridgeston­e’s current dealer network across India. Bridgeston­e India, which started its operations in 1996, has 500 dealership­s in over 200 cities in India. The company set up its first manufactur­ing facility in Kheda, Madhya Pradesh in 1998, and the second plant in Chakan, Pune in 2013. Now Bridgeston­e India is one of the leading tyre companies in both the OEM and replacemen­t market.

Bridgeston­e India has its retail stores both in urban and rural markets. Services at these Bridgeston­e stores include wheel alignment, wheel balancing, tyre changing and sale of alloy wheels. Company sources said that the brand would continue to expand its reach and provide customerfr­iendly, smart and a progressiv­e services.
