Shell teams up with Komatsu to develop new engine oil
Shell Lubricants, in partnership with Komatsu, of Japan, has launched a specially reformulated lubricant - Komatsu Genuine oil 15W-40.
Following a global alliance of more than 15 years, the 2 companies have come together to create this new formulation that meets the requirements of API CI-4, DH1 which makes it a unique combination. It delivers improved high temperature performance and ensures reduced deposits and cleaner engine. The specially developed diesel engine oil will ensure that Komatsu’s construction and mining range of equipment are taken care of in the best way possible and deliver optimal performance. Commenting on the partnership, Akhil Jha, Vice President Technical, Shell Lubricants India said, “As part of Shell Lubricants’ commitment to develop superior lubrication solutions to fit their needs, we work closely with our OEM partners. This in turn broadens our understanding of future operational and equipment challenges, to provide technology solutions in developing advanced oils which help customers get a competitive edge.
