Tyr­expo 2017 up­dates on de­vel­op­ing trends

Tyr­expo In­dia and GarageXpo In­dia 2017 brought to­gether 2,017 trade vis­i­tors and close to 80 ex­hibitors from 30 coun­tries on a uni­fy­ing plat­form to ex­plore in­no­va­tive prod­ucts and so­lu­tions, to be up­dated on de­vel­op­ing trends, as well as to net­work to forge valu­able con­nec­tions. The three-day event, the In­dian sub-con­ti­nent’s largest and only show serv­ing com­ple­men­tary tyre and au­to­mo­tive re­pair/main­te­nance com­mu­ni­ties, was held from July 11 to 13, 2017 at the Chen­nai Trade Cen­tre. It pro­vided the trade vis­i­tors a com­plete user ex­pe­ri­ence through ex­plo­ration of end-to-end so­lu­tions in the ecosys­tem.

Pro­grammes like TyreTalk/GarageTalk Sem­i­nar and Tyr­expo/GarageXpo Tech­ni­cal Work­shop were well­re­ceived. For the Tyre & Rub­ber In­dus­try Lead­er­ship Ac­knowl­edge­ment (TRiLA) Awards, some of the lead­ing com­pa­nies in the Rub­ber & Tyre in­dus­try came to­gether to cel­e­brate the achievement of in­di­vid­u­als and com­pa­nies in dif­fer­ent cat­e­gories. Key play­ers such as Apollo Tyres, Bridge­stone Tyres and Yoko­hama Tire were among the big win­ners.

Apollo Tyres won Hatch Back Tyre of the Year, TBR Tyre of the Year, TRiLA Com­pany of the Year as well as The Best Mar­ket­ing Per­son of the Year awards. Yoko­hama Tires fol­lowed closely with two awards in­clud­ing Tyre of the Year Up Siz­ing and SUV Tyre of the Year while Bridge­stone Tyres fetched the awards of Tyre of the Year Lux­ury and TRiLA Sedan Tyre of the Year.

Renowned na­tional and in­ter­na­tional play­ers like BKT Tires, LingLong Tyres, Ori­en­tal Car­bon & Chem­i­cals Ltd, Sarvesh­wari Tech­nolo­gies Ltd, and the new­est edi­tion to the show – L&T Rub­ber Pro­cess­ing Ma­chin­ery-, were among the galaxy of are ex­hibitors.

Fo­cus­ing on the im­por­tance of knowl­edge trans­fers and com­mu­nity build­ing this year, Tyr­expo In­dia had part­nered with renowned in­dus­try play­ers, namely China United Rub­ber Cor­po­ra­tion (co-lo­ca­tion part­ner), Frost & Sul­li­van (knowl­edge part­ner) and TyreTimes (in­dus­try awards part­ner). Rid­ing on the suc­cess of the past edi­tions, the TyreTalk & GarageTalk sem­i­nar se­ries, and the Tyr­expo & GarageXpo Tech­ni­cal Work­shop se­ries, once again brought par­tic­i­pants the best re­turn on in­vest­ment in terms of con­tent, di­ver­sity and busi­ness con­nec­tions.

The in­au­gu­ral GarageXpo In­dia 2017, held along­side Tyr­expo In­dia 2017, was first in­tro­duced dur­ing Tyr­expo Asia 2017 in March this year. The event en­abled the au­to­mo­tive re­pair and main­te­nance com­mu­nity in the In­dian sub-con­ti­nent to show­case the lat­est au­to­mo­tive re­pair and main­te­nance equip­ment, tech­nolo­gies, and trends. At­ten­dees from the Tyres, Au­to­mo­tive Re­pair and Main­te­nance, and Tyre Ac­ces­sories could con­nect with the existing and new buyer groups, and ex­plore cut­ting-edge tech­nolo­gies, prod­ucts and so­lu­tions from the ex­hibitors and busi­ness vis­i­tors. Rid­ing on the wave of op­por­tu­ni­ties in the tyre and rub­ber in­dus­try in In­dia, China United Rub­ber Cor­po­ra­tion (CURC) signed a Me­moran­dum of Un­der­stand­ing with SingEx Ex­hi­bi­tions dur­ing Tyr­expo In­dia 2017, to of­fi­ci­ate the co-lo­ca­tion of Rub­berTech, a lead­ing in­ter­na­tional ex­hi­bi­tion se­ries on rub­ber tech­nol­ogy and Tyr­ere­cy­cling, with Tyr­expo and GarageXpo 2018 in In­dia and Africa. The part­ner­ship be­tween CURC and SingEx Ex­hi­bi­tions through the Rub­berTech and Tyr­expo plat­forms, will foster closer re­la­tion­ships among the tyre, rub­ber and au­to­mo­tive com­mu­ni­ties while con­nect­ing and strength­en­ing busi­nesses on a re­gional level.

“This part­ner­ship be­tween SingEx Ex­hi­bi­tions and CURC, through the Tyr­expo and Rub­berTech plat­forms, en­ables the ac­cel­er­a­tion of busi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties in the rub­ber and tyre ecosys­tem in China, In­dia and Africa. Es­tab­lish­ing these new re­gional re­la­tion­ships can spark off ex­cit­ing pos­si­bil­i­ties for the in­dus­try, while lev­er­ag­ing on com­ple­men­tary strengths, al­low­ing for strength­en­ing of busi­nesses on a broader eco­nomic level,” Adrian Sng, Gen­eral Man­ager, SingEx Ex­hi­bi­tions, said. Tyr­expo In­dia and GarageXpo In­dia will be back in 2018 in New Delhi, dur­ing June, 19 – 21.
