FCA in­tro­duces new Jeep Grand Chero­kee petrol

FCA In­dia has launched the ‘petrol’ ver­sion of the Jeep Grand Chero­kee in In­dia at Rs 75.15 lakh (exshow­room, New Delhi). The com­pany has also an­nounced up­grades in the en­tire range of lux­ury SUVs along with new prices, thereby of­fer­ing more value to the In­dian cus­tomers.

Jeep Grand Chero­kee Sum­mit (Petrol), the lat­est ad­di­tion to the Jeep range of SUVs, is pow­ered by the award-win­ning 289.6 PS, 347 Nm, 3.6-litre Pen­tas­tar engine, mar­ried to an up­graded eight-speed pad­dle shift au­to­matic trans­mis­sion.

The ‘Gen II’ au­to­matic trans­mis­sion is en­gi­neered to de­liver im­proved over­all per­for­mance re­sult­ing in less drag on the clutches. Its op­ti­mised lu­bri­ca­tion has im­proved clutch dura­bil­ity, shift re­sponse, con­sis­tency en­abling smoother qual­ity down­shifts. This Gen II 8-speed pad­dle shift trans­mis­sion will also be of­fered in the diesel vari­ants of the Grand Chero­kee. Be­sides the Gen II au­to­matic trans­mis­sion, the Grand Chero­kee’s Lim­ited and Sum­mit vari­ants now get the new 75th An­niver­sary fas­cia with en­hanced ‘bil­let­like’ plat­ing on the grille slots while the SRT gets up­per and lower cool­ing in­takes on the front fas­cia.

The New Jeep Com­pletely Built Units (CBU) will be avail­able at the fol­low­ing, prices with im­me­di­ate ef­fect: Grand Chero­kee Lim­ited Diesel, Rs 75.15 lakh); Grand Chero­kee Sum­mit Diesel, Rs 85.15 lakh; Grand Chero­kee SRT, Rs 1.07 crore; and Wran­gler Un­lim­ited Diesel Rs 64.45 lakh. The price of the Wran­gler Un­lim­ited Petrol re­mains un­changed at Rs 56 lakh, all ex-show­room, New Delhi.
