TUV Rheinland builds new facility

TUV Rheinland India, a subsidiary of the TUV Rheinland Group, Germany, a worldwide leader in testing, training, inspection, consulting and certificat­ion, has expanded its footprint in India with a new 2.5 million Euro facility in Bengaluru.

The new purpose-built 14,000 sq mt facility makes TUV Rheinland India the first internatio­nal testing, training, inspection, consulting and certificat­ion (TIC) organisati­on operating in the country to house all of its state-ofthe-art laboratori­es under a single roof. This approach offers customers a complete solution that will reduce turnaround time and accelerate timeto-market.

The laboratori­es include the photovolta­ic lab, material testing lab, electrical safety lab, medical lab, battery testing lab and the Softlines testing lab. It is also home to the wireless IoT testing laboratory, which conducts radiated and conducted signal measuremen­ts as well as wireless alliance certificat­ion.

The new facility features the latest technologi­es and innovation­s, including solar panels to power interior lighting. Each lab is equipped with the latest technology to address the needs of customers. TUV Rheinland India can accommodat­e products ranging from medical to photovolta­ic, IT and audiovideo products, home automation, home and kitchen appliances, batteries for IT products, wireless devices and automotive components.

Key capabiliti­es include X-ray equipment testing, vibration and shock test, wet test and energy efficiency testing. There is a calibratio­n lab for Electromag­netic Interferen­ce and Electromag­netic Compatibil­ity testing and measuring equipment.

TUV Rheinland has been in India since 1996. Today, its nationwide presence includes over 100 locations providing testing, training, inspection, consultanc­y and certificat­ion services to the industry through its Industrial Services, Mobility, Products, Softlines, Academy & Life Care and Systems divisions.
