Greaves Cot­ton part­ners with Alti­green to pro­duce clean en­ergy pow­er­trains

Greaves Cot­ton has an­nounced that it is has crossed sales of 5 mil­lion made-in-In­dia en­gines. Set up in 1859, the com­pany to­day has core com­pe­ten­cies in diesel and petrol en­gines, farm equip­ment and gensets. The com­pany has 6 man­u­fac­tur­ing units backed by com­pre­hen­sive spares and ser­vice through its 3,500 ser­vice out­lets across In­dia.

Nagesh Basa­van­halli, MD and CEO of Greaves Cot­ton said, “Cross­ing 5 mil­lion en­gines is a sig­nif­i­cant mile­stone which re­in­forces the trust our OEMs, ven­dors and end users of three-wheeled and 4-wheeled mi­cro-com­mer­cial ve­hi­cles have in us. With In­dia get­ting ready for a tech­no­log­i­cal, reg­u­la­tory and busi­ness model dis­rup­tion by 2020, we at Greaves are work­ing on fu­ture-ready fuel ag­nos­tic pow­er­train ser­vices and so­lu­tions and we look for­ward to serve mil­lions of cus­tomers.” The com­pany has been man­u­fac­tur­ing ap­prox­i­mately 400,000 en­gines per year cater­ing to grow­ing de­mand from a range of au­to­mo­tive and non-au­to­mo­tive ap­pli­ca­tions across the world.
