Am­vian plans to tap In­dian mar­ket with unique seat­ing so­lu­tions

Ca­maco-Am­vian, the largest in­de­pen­dent sup­plier of engi­neered seat­ing so­lu­tions for the global au­to­mo­tive in­dus­try, has a di­verse prod­uct line in­clud­ing seat struc­tures, head rest as­sem­blies and latch as­sem­blies. The de­sign and en­gi­neer­ing team of the com­pany, head­quar­tered in Farm­ing­ton Hills, Michi­gan, USA, com­bines vi­sion and in­no­va­tion with process-driven de­sign so­lu­tions. The team com­prises more than 60 en­gi­neers glob­ally with of­fices in Michi­gan, Vado­dara, In­dia, and In­gol­stadt, Ger­many.

In In­dia, the com­pany has its man­u­fac­tur­ing fa­cil­ity at Vado­dara and ex­port its prod­ucts to var­i­ous cus­tomers across the globe. Now, Am­vian is ex­plor­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties to tap the do­mes­tic mar­ket with its unique seationg so­lu­tions. “Our ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence with au­to­mo­tive seat­ing com­prises ev­ery level of con­cept de­vel­op­ment and prod­uct de­sign util­is­ing CAD and re­verse en­gi­neer­ing, CAE/ FEA sim­u­la­tion and op­ti­mi­sa­tion, and de­sign and man­u­fac­tur­ing process sim­u­la­tion. The com­pany in­cor­po­rates process ca­pa­bil­i­ties at the con­cept and ini­tial de­sign phases us­ing 3D solids to iden­tify and op­ti­mise en­gi­neer­ing de­sign man­u­fac­tur­ing abil­ity,” Mu­rali Swami­nathan, Di­rec­tor of Op­er­a­tions, Am­vian Au­to­mo­tive (Pvt) Ltd, told Auto Com­po­nents In­dia.
