Auto Expo Com­po­nents show presents fu­tur­is­tic tech­nolo­gies and prod­ucts

The 14th edi­tion of Auto Expo Com­po­nents with the theme: ‘Au­to­mo­tive Tech­nolo­gies that Drive the World’ re­flected the po­ten­tial of In­dian auto com­po­nent in­dus­try. Spread across 60,000 sqm, the show had par­tic­i­pa­tion from over 1,200 companies, which in­cluded 850 do­mes­tic and 350 in­ter­na­tional ex­hibitors. Over 115,000 ded­i­cated trade vis­i­tors from 20 coun­tries, con­trib­uted to mak­ing the event one of the largest OEM-fo­cused com­po­nent expo of the world.

The show has been a suc­cess­ful show­case of path-break­ing tech­nolo­gies to ad­dress chal­lenges the auto in­dus­try is fac­ing in India and the world. Sev­eral ex­hibitors launched new prod­ucts and tech­nolo­gies in con­for­mance with BS-VI and other safety reg­u­la­tions. Be­sides that, the ACMA Safer Drives pavil­ion fea­tur­ing vir­tual re­al­ity games and other spe­cial displays aimed at spread­ing aware­ness on road safety was a big at­trac­tion for the vis­i­tors.

The Auto Expo-Com­po­nents or­gan­ised jointly by the Au­to­mo­tive Com­po­nent Man­u­fac­tur­ers As­so­ci­a­tion of India (ACMA), the Con­fed­er­a­tion of In­dian In­dus­try (CII) and the So­ci­ety of In­dian Au­to­mo­bile Man­u­fac­tur­ers (SIAM), at Pra­gati Maidan, New Delhi, con­cluded suc­cess­fully on Fe­bru­ary 11, 2018.

Suresh Prabhu, Union Min­is­ter of Com­merce and In­dus­try and Anant Geete, Union Min­is­ter for Heavy In­dus­tries and Pub­lic En­ter­prises, jointly inaugurated the event on Fe­bru­ary 8, 2018. The Com­merce Min­is­ter urged the auto com­po­nents in­dus­try to fo­cus on higher value-ad­di­tion and to par­tic­i­pate ac­tively in Global Au­to­mo­tive Value Chains (GVCs) as op­posed to the cur­rent Global Sup­ply Chains.
