Schwing Stetter India to set up new plant

Schwing Stetter India, a leading concrete equipment manufactur­er, plans to set up a new manufactur­ing facility in SIPCOT Industrial Area, Cheyyar, Tiruvannam­alai District, Tamil Nadu, about 60 km away from its existing facilities. The new unit, spreading over 53 acres, is a step towards strengthen­ing Schwing Stetter’s commitment to the Indian market and focus on to meet the emerging infrastruc­ture boom in India and export potential in other Asian and the African markets.

Schwing Stetter will invest about Rs 350 crore in 2 phases to establish this technology-enabled and environmen­tally-sustainabl­e manufactur­ing facility. The new site aims to focus on new product launches and support the progressio­n of engineered products from the prototype stage to serial production.

Anand Sundaresan, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India said, “The new facility is core to Schwing Stetter’s long-term strategy to expand and reinforce our position as one of India’s leading concrete equipment manufactur­ers. We are hopeful of full cooperatio­n from the Government of Tamil Nadu for the success of the plant.”

V G Sakthikuma­r, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter Sales and Services Private Ltd said, “Boosting our existing production to cope up with industry demands has been a great challenge for us. With this new facility, we will launch a new line of exciting, state-of-the-art products to suit the demands of the global markets.”

Schwing Stetter India is a 100% subsidiary of Schwing GmBH, a German concrete machinery manufactur­er and a part of XCMG group.
