Cars to get costlier in 2018

IT SEEMS 2018 is all set to begin with a price hike across the board for all major manufactur­ers. Come New Year, buying your dream car could soon become a costly affair as major carmakers have announced a price hike in passenger vehicles from January 2018. While Tata Motors will increase prices of its passenger vehicles by up to Rs 25,000 from January, Toyota Innova and Fortuner are likely to cost 3 percent more than the previous year. Honda Cars India have also hiked by price by Rs 25,000 from January 1, 2018 and Skoda Auto India had earlier announced a price hike of 2-3 per cent on all its mod- els. Isuzu models, on the other hand will go up by almost Rs 1 lakh from January 1. The increase is expected to be between 3 and 4 percent across the model range. Meanwhile, auto dealers are offering discounts and other offers, in the range of Rs 25,000 and Rs 8.85 lakh, on certain vehicles.
