-

HERO ENTERED the 125cc scooter segment in the country with the launch of the new Destini 125, which was showcased as the Duet 125 at the Auto Expo 2018. The Destini 125 is available in two variants LX and VX with prices at Rs 54,650 and Rs 57,500 ex-showroom respectively. The Destini 125 is also the first scooter in the market to come with the i3S technology, which is an automatic start-stop system. The new scooter is designed completely at the company’s Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur and shares lots of design cues with the 110cc Duet. The body panels, styling and many of the other details are new, while the suspension and brakes are sourced from the Duet. The

Destini 125 comes with the integrated braking system (IBS), side stand indicator, service reminder, pass switch and external fuel filling. The top of the line VX version gets boot light, a mobile charging point, chrome garnishes cast wheels and dual tone seat covers. At present, the Destini will only come with drum brakes, though, the company has not ruled out the possibility of introducing the scooter with disc brakes at a later stage. Mechanically, the Destini 125 gets the same engine that we will see in the upcoming Maestro 125. Power comes from a new 125cc single cylinder engine that churns out max power of 8.7bhp and peak torque of 10.2Nm, mated to a CVT unit. It will take on the likes of the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, the Aprilia SR125 and the TVS Ntorq.
