BS-VI brigade rolls out
BS VI Super Splendor
HERO MOTOCORP has launched the Super Splendor BS6 in India with an introductory price tag of Rs 67,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Powering the new Super Splendor is a BS6-compliant, 125cc, PFI (Programmed Fuel Injection) engine with XSens technology that generates 10.73bhp and 10.6Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The 2020 Super Splendor BS6 makes use of the i3S (idle start-stop system) to maximise efficiency. Under the skin is a rigid diamond frame suspended on both ends with slightly upgraded springs with 15mm and 7.5mm of additional travel. On the braking front, there is a 240mm disc brake with a 130mm drum at the rear.In additon to another 30mm of ground clearance.
Jawa upgrades to BS-VI
MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA’S owned Classic Legends has launched the BS6-compliant Jawa and Jawa Forty Two in India. While the Jawa BS6 price starts at Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom), the Jawa Forty Two BS6 price begins at Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Pushing the price up between Rs 5,000 to about Rs 10,000 depending on the trim version etc. The updated BS6-compliant, 293cc, liquidcooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine in Jawa and Jawa Forty Two now features cross port technology, which Classic Legends claims is the first for a motorcycle in India. Thankfully the updated engine has retained pre-BS6 power and torque figures. Hopefully, in the course of this transition Classic Legends will be able to speed up their out put efficiency and come to the fore front of the market, like we all had hoped when they first announced the brand.
BS-VI Gixxer twins
SUZUKI MOTORCYCLE India has launched the BS6-compliant Gixxer and Gixxer SF. Suzuki Gixxer BS6 and Suzuki Gixxer SF BS6 are the first in the Suzuki family to launch since they were showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.Suzuki Gixxer BS6 and Suzuki Gixxer SF BS6 are equipped with the same 155cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, fuel injection, air-cooled, SOHC engine that develops 13.6bhp and 13.8Nm of peak torque. Both the power and torque numbers have decreased i n the BS6 avatar. The motor is paired with a
5-speed gearbox.
