The Renault Triber comes as a surprise package in more ways than one. The MPV firstly offers a rather good ride quality. With first and second rows occupied the ride is pliant for all the passengers. When you load up the third row, things might get mildly uncomfortable for the passengers in the third row. When fully laden, there is a sharp metallic clang from the suspension when hitting a pothole at high speeds. On the other hand on poor surfaces, the Tiber glides through without any discomfort. I would also like to add here that the Triber on paper offers 182mm of ground clearance. This means that I can take on speed breakers of most kinds fully laden with ease as well. The Triber also impressed me on the one occasion where I had to climb down a rough patch. The minimal overhangs meant I could take on the challenge without scratching either the underbody or the bumpers. Impressive!

The other good thing about the Triber is the steering feel. Inspite of being an MPV, the steering set up is very comfortable and responsive as well. In city driving around and trying to make three-point turns is rather easy thanks to its light nature. What is surprising is the fact that it offers a good amount of feedback as well. Now for the last note on this report which is visibility. Thanks to the streamline A-pillars and the smartly designed bonnet visibility over the hood is top class. This comes especially handy in bumper to bumper traffic where every inch matters. This is also the case when it comes to reversing the Triber. Overall the Triber has truly emerged as a revolution when it comes to compact MPVs. Um, did I just mistakenly invent a new segment there?
