Volkswagen teases new CUV

-

VOLKSWAGEN IS closing on to the reveal of the all new CUV that will eventually replace the Polo hatchback initially in Brazil and then in relevant markets across the globe. The coupe inspired subcompact SUV will be completely developed and manufactured at the VW’s Brazil facility, and will be an affordable option positioned below the T-Cross, Tarek and Tiguan in the company’s South American portfolio. In terms of the design, the Nivus CUV has strong resemblance to the Porsche Macan when viewed from the rear section. Overall, the styling is much rounder and has smooth lines compared to other crossovers in VW’s lineup such as the Atlas Cross. The LED tail lamps with DRLs add a certain up-market feel to the Nivus CUV while the 17-inch alloy wheels nicely fills up the wheel arches. Built on the VW’s MQB platform, the Nivus CUV will be powered by a 1.0litre inline-3, petrol engine that develops 128bhp and 200Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels as well as an option to choose VW 4Motion all-wheel drive system. There will also be a standard 6-speed manual gearbox on offer.
