TVS updates Sport and Radeon

-

THE NEW BS-VI compliant TVS Sport has been launched at a starting price of Rs 51,750. That said, the base variant is costlier by Rs 3,633 compared to the corresponding variant of the previous BS-IV model. On the other hand, the electric start variant will set you back by Rs 58,925 and hence, demands a premium of 8,017 over the ES variant of the BS-IV model. Prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi. The biggest update on the new BS-VI TVS Sport is that it gets fuel injection that should offer a crisper throttle response. Thanks to this and multiple other changes on the engine to meet BSVI compliance, the company claims a better fuel economy compared to the BS-IV model, 15 per cent to be precise. There are some revisions in power and torque figures as well. The new BS-VI motor displaces 109.7cc and develops 8.29bhp and 8.7Nm, coupled with a 4-speed unit. After the Sport, TVS also updated the Radeon 110cc commuter motorcycle to meet the BS-VI emission norms. The BS-VI TVS Radeon has been offered in Standard drum brake, special edition drum and disc variants priced at Rs 58,992, Rs 61,992 and Rs 64,992 respectively. All prices are ex-showroom. Compared to the old BS-IV version, the bike has witnessed a price hike between Rs 6,632 – Rs 8,632. The BS-VI TVS Radeon uses the fuel injected 109.7cc, air-cooled engine instead of its carbureted unit, and with this calibration, the power output has been dropped from 8.2bhp to 8.08bhp. Torque figure, however, remains unchanged – i.e. 8.7Nm. TVS says that the BS-VI model of the Radeon is 15 per cent more fuel efficient than its BS-IV counterpart.
