SWINGARM PIVOT

The swingarm is a means of linking the rear wheel and suspension to the chassis, or the engine, in some cases. The swingarm connects to the chassis at the swingarm pivot, located aft of the engine and before the subframe, allowing the pivot action to allow the rear suspension to function. It is one of the two most stressed areas of the motorcycle chassis. Some motorcycles, especially hard-tail cruisers with no rear suspension do not have a swingarm pivot.
