Globetrotting Italian Style

AS MENTIONED EARLIER, DUCATI kick-started their 90th year celebration at the World Ducati Week where more than 1,00,000 Ducatisti converged to be a part of the celebration. We were also there. Turn over to page number 122 to read all about it.

The bigger event embodying the long journey of the marque was the start of the Ducati Globetrotter 90th. What is the Globetrotter 90th? Well, it’s a ride that started in Borgo Panigale on 4 July, the Ducati foundation day, and is scheduled to culminate in December 2016. This great ride from the town of Borgo Panigale will cover 30,000 kilometres in over three months, covering three continents.

Ducati held a contest prior to the start of the ride wherein seven individuals from across the world were chosen to ride a Multistrada, in stages, to cover the distance. And guess what? An Indian was the first rider to kick-start the ride from Borgo Panigale. Vir Nakai of Helmet Stories was selected for this gruelling but epic ride. On 4 July, he was flagged off from the Ducati factory in the presence of Ducati personnel, including CEO Claudio Domenicali. Nakai will be riding till Russia where the second rider will take over.
