Shirish D Kulkarni
Chairman, DSK Motowheels
THE SUCCESS OF DSK MOTOWHEELS IN RECENT TIMES is undeniable and the company’s rise meteoric. All of it is due to one man: Shirish D Kulkarni. Shirish holds a firmly business-attuned educational background with a commerce graduate’s degree from the Symbiosis International University and a post-graduate diploma in business strategy acquired in Auckland, New Zealand. Under the DSK Motowheels banner, the company assembles and sells bikes from the Korean bikemakers, Hyosung, and the Italian marque, Benelli, now under Chinese ownership with the Qianjiang Corporation. In the last year alone, DSK-Benelli announced the launch of five new models for their Indian line-up, along with the introduction of products from Keeway Motorcycles also in the pipeline.
This, along with 16 showrooms established across the country for Benelli alone, the introduction of ABS for the first time in a Benelli motorcycle with the TNT 600 GT and 600i, and the construction of a new plant outside Pune that will have a production capacity of 50,000 units annually by 2018, means DSK Motowheels’ star is on the rise, and Shirish is the driving force behind it.
In his spare time Shirish is an avid follower of both football and motor sport, and is also known for his philanthropy and humanitarian work.
