IT HAS BEEN JUST OVER A YEAR SINCE DUCATI CAME INTO India officially, and the Italian superbike makers are already moving from strength to strength here. Their dealership presence has grown from three to five in this past year, with the latest one being inaugurated in the city of Pune. Ravi Avalur is the MD of Ducati’s Indian presence and has been at the forefront of all this progress. With experience in the field dating back over 20 years, Ravi definitely has the qualifications for the job. He began his academic journey at the Lawrence School in Sanwar, after which he acquired a BA in political science and an MBA from INSEAD on a scholarship grant. His work experience includes time with the who’s who of the auto world. This includes a project director’s role with Ferrari SpA and more.

Under Ravi’s stewardship, Ducati have launched their full range of products here in India, including the likes of the Scrambler series and the 959 Panigale. Other achievements include the establishment of Ducati’s famous Desmo Club here in India, and a strong presence at the 2016 India Bike Week.
