TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLES HAVE BEEN IN INDIA FOR A few years now, and have established a strong presence for themselves in India’s premium motorcycle market. Since the firm’s inception here in India, the man at the helm and leading the charge has been Vimal Sumbly.
Apart from being a passionate biker himself, Vimal also has over 17 years of experience in automotive manufacture which includes the post of general manager of sales at Bajaj Auto immediately preceding his present responsibility. It was under his guidance that Triumph set up their assembly plant in Manesar, Haryana, allowing the company to bring in motorcycles via the CKD route, making their products an attractive proposition for potential customers in India.
Over the last year, Triumph have stepped up their game in the country even further by bringing updated versions of their Tiger range of adventure sports bikes, introducing the retro-styled Street Twin in the Indian market, and launching new versions of the Bonneville, and Thruxton lineages as well. Furthermore, Triumph have been active participants in the biking scene with activities such as a notable presence at the India Bike Week 2016 and the creation of the Tiger Training Academy to create owner engagement and provide instruction in the subject of riding on multiple terrains.
