YAMAHA IS ANOTHER RENOWNED JAPANESE BRAND that has adapted to the Indian market for a while now. The man in charge of the brand’s Indian holding is Masaki Asano.

Asano san began his foray at Yamaha Motor Company in 1981, and, after focusing on the Japanese market for eight years, accepted the role of GM (marketing) at Yamaha Motor Indonesia. In 1997, he took over Yamaha Motor Portugal’s presidency, a position he later held at Yamaha’s Italian operations from 2001- 03. He moved back to the head office in Japan in 2003 and became the in- charge of Yamaha’s presence in Central and South America. From 2007 to 2012, he was in charge of Yamaha Vietnam, after which his arrival in India. He took over the role of MD of Yamaha Motor India Sales in 2013.

Asano san brings with him a rich associatio­n with Yamaha stretching over three decades, and under his guidance, Yamaha Motor India Sales have shown consistent maturation. On the product side of things, in the past few months, Yamaha have launched the lifestyle- oriented Fascino scooter, resurrecte­d the legendary RX moniker with the introducti­on of the Saluto RX 110- cc commuter, and even brought in the compact supersport YZF- R3 to Indian shores.
