Ladies on Track
Ten ladies kick off India’s first all-woman racing season
OVER THE PAST FEW years, Honda have been instrumental in making racing and proper track training accessible to one and all. Last year they organised the first ladies-only race, and this year they went a step further by setting up the country’s first all-woman racing championship. Ten ladies will take to the track astride the CBR 150R race-prepped bike in championship races throughout the year, and if the action in round one on Saturday was anything to go by, it is clear that these ladies are serious, and are here to race. All the lady racers have been trained at Honda Ten10 Racing.
Pooja Dabhi of Pune started the race from pole position and led for the full five laps to finish in first place with a time of 08:03:969. She was closely followed by Shruthi N of Chennai, who finished less than half a second behind. On the third step of the podium was again a Chennai girl, A Rhyhane Bee, who finished the five-lapper in 08:10.097.
We would like to offer our hearty congratulations to these ladies, and all the people at Honda Ten10 Racing who played a part in getting them on to the track.
