PRELOAD

Preload is essentially the default load set for a motorcycle suspension. The suspension is adjusted for an initial position that optimally suits the weight of the motorcycle and rider on it. Adjusting the preload can determine how soft or firm the suspension feels since motorcycle suspension systems are designed so that the springs are always under compression, even when they are fully extended or under no load.
