MONOSHOCK

Another common rear suspension setup for bikes, a monoshock is essentially a single coil-spring. A monoshock functions much better than a dual rear coil-spring setup. It is extremely difficult to find two springs with the same rating and, with two shock-absorbers, the compression and rebound damping are often discrepant. This affects handling to some extent, more so when at speed on bumpy roads.
