Leg Seven

-

Isle of Man to Bologna (Borgo Panigale) Rider Timo Schaefer (Germany) Distance Covered 2,400 km

TIMO WAS THE LAST OF THE SEVEN RIDERS WHO HAD the enviable task of riding the Multi home and marking the end of this epic adventure. He began the last leg of this 30,000-kilometre-long journey across several countries in the Northern Hemisphere by meeting one of the greatest motorcycle racers ever, Paul Smart, who piloted Fabio Taglioni’s creation, the Ducati 750 racer, to a spectacular victory in 1972 at Imola 200. From there, Timo headed to the famous Spa Francorchamps racetrack where Ducati’s 125 Desmo won for the first time in 1958. On his way from Spa to Bologna, Timo also took in Ingolstadt, Germany. Here he was given a special welcome by the Audi Forum. Timo brought the Multi back to Borgo Panigale via the Monza, a racetrack steeped in history and also the place where Siluro had set the world speed record in 1958.

The last mile was the most special for Timo and the Multi as Claudio Domenicali accorded a grand welcome both to the bike and the rider back home in Borgo Panigale.
