Lisboa to Isle of Man Rider Hugo Wilson (Britain) Distance Covered 3,950 km FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THE DUCATI Multistrad­a 1200 Enduro travelled to Portugal, where Hugo Wilson, journalist and Editor of Bike Magazine UK, took charge of the bike through Portugal to his native country, the UK. The first stop was the legendary Silverston­e circuit where one of the greatest racers in the world, Mike Hailwood, achieved two victories in two different classes on the same day in 1960. From Silverston­e Hugo and the Multi went to Donington Park where the first ever WSBK race took place and was won by Marco Lucchinell­i on the 851 SBK. The bike was also displayed at Motorcycle Live in Birmingham. The last leg of the sixth stage saw the bike and the rider visit the holiest place on the planet for road racing: the Isle of Man. This is the place where Mike Hailwood, the legendary Ducati rider, won his greatest race ever, the 1978 Tourist Trophy, when he piloted his Ducati 900 SS TT IOM to victory in front of 300,000 spectators. From the Isle of Man the Multistrad­a 1200 Enduro was handed over to Timo Schaefer, a mechanical engineerin­g student from Karslruhe, Germany.
