Can One Change the Instrument Console?

I am a big fan of the ‘Technomail’ section in Bike India because I learn a lot about various technical aspects of a motorcycle. Recently, I bought a KTM 390 Duke but now the company has launched a completely revised 390 Duke. Although I am happy with my bike, I want to change a few things such as the instrument console. I want to know whether it is feasible to do so. Please advise me. Sam Demello, Imphal

It is not feasible to change the console as there are many things involved in the procedure. All the electronics of the bike are connected to the ECU and changing something like the instrument console requires a lot of changes in the overall electronics of the bike to match the new console. Thus it is not possible to change the console without tampering with the ECU of the bike.
