ALEX MARQUEZ (ESTRELLA GALICIA KALEX) scored his first Moto2 win. In the early stages of the race Marquez and team-mate Franco Morbidelli raced ahead to dispute the lead between themselves. Marquez led the first seven laps, putting Morbidelli ahead, but the very next lap the championship leader slid off.

That left Marquez four seconds clear of rookie Francesco Bagnaia (Sky VR46 Kalex) who had a superb ride to second, 3.4 seconds behind Marquez and just ahead of Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM). Oliveira made sure of his second podium of the year when he got the better of Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Kalex) who had used up his rear grip.
