THESE LADIES HAVE UNQUESTIONABLY

proved that they can race, and how. In an electric competition full of fast corners and daring manoeuvres, the women put on quite a show for the second time this year. The competitors starred in the support races that were held alongside the regular One Make Championship. They displayed their skills on brand-new red Apache RTR 200s similar to the blue racespec Apaches that the men ride. With 11 entries in total, the ladies race, which took place last Saturday, was truly engaging.

Aishwarya Pissay was determined to dominate the racetrack and enjoyed a comfortable lead on the first two laps. However, Soundari A, who looked equally determined, soon interrupted her charge. The two racers rode neck to neck till the very end of the race, with Chennai’s Soundari proving to be the victor, with Aishwarya crossing the line just a second behind. Bengaluru’s Priyamvadha Saradhi finished in third place.

The young women participating in the competition seem to be growing from strength to strength with each round, and TVS deserve massive kudos for making the big move to help promote women’s racing in India.
