TVS Motor Overtake Hero MotoCorp

TVS MOTOR HAVE EXCEEDED HERO MOTOCORP IN SCOOTER SALES according to the data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufactur­ers (SIAM). Chennai-based TVS Motor sold a total of 2,49,077 units in April-June to become the second largest scooter seller in the country, the first being Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI). Hero MotoCorp sold 2,09,790 units, taking the third position sales-wise.

The first quarter (April-June) saw TVS Motor grow at a progressiv­e rate of 35.51 per cent as compared to last year’s first quarter (1,83,805 units). Hero MotoCorp, on the other hand, witnessed a decline in sales by 0.51 per cent.

Hero MotoCorp and Mahindra Two Wheelers are the only two companies to witness a decline in sales during the first quarter of the new financial year.
