Aftermarke­t ABS Feasible?

I am an avid fan of Bike India. This is apropos of the article, ‘Achieve Good Mileage’, compiled by Rommel Albuquerqu­e in the July 2014 issue of Bike India. I own a Honda Activa that is six years old and has clocked 29,500 km. In the month of December 2016, I was able to achieve a fuel efficiency of 100 km/l, riding mainly on the highway. I am grateful to you for printing the article and also to Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India for their superb design and engineerin­g. I have a query regarding the anti-lock braking system (ABS). Can ABS be installed on my Honda Activa?

In conclusion I am happy to say that your magazine is useful to two-wheeler lovers like me. Satya Sai Prasad Vanam, via e-mail sensors and additional components, and it is usually fitted by the manufactur­ers. The mechanical drum brakes on the Activa are pretty basic and hence there is no way that ABS can be fitted on them because ABS works perfectly well with disc brakes and hydraulic drum brakes.
