Suitable Royal Enfield Bike

-

I am six feet tall and of medium build (74 kg). My age is 37. Last week I test - rode the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Classic 500, Himalayan and Thunderbird 350. My riding pattern is as follows: I ride thrice a week in Chennai traffic for 40 km to and from office, once every month I go for a long ride, say 300 to 400 km, and sometimes even longer on bumpy roads. I am looking for a motorcycle that entails minimum maintenance, has good suspension and grip, no recurring clutch problems, smooth riding, and good posture.

My heart goes for the Himalayan but I heard there were some recurring problems and that it has been re-launched with FI. Have the previous concerns been addressed in the Himalayan post its re-launch? Does its engine generate too much heat?

Should I go for the Classic 350, Thunderbird 350 or Himalayan? Please advise me as to which Royal Enfield bike would be most suitable to me in the long run. S Veeraraghavan, Chennai Dear Raghavan,

Since you have your heart set on a Royal Enfield and based on your requirements and commutes, you have correctly identified the Himalayan as the most suitable motorcycle for you. However, we haven’t yet had the opportunity of riding the new fuel-injected Himalayan as there are no test bikes available, so we cannot confirm whether the niggles in the previous iteration of the bike have now been addressed.
