New Harley-Davidson 1200 on the Cards
HARLEY-DAVIDSON INDIA RECENTLY revealed that the company is going to launch a new sportster model in India; however, they haven’t revealed the particular model to be launched. The company conducted a ride in croatia recently where select media members from India were invited to ride the latest Iron 1200 and the forty-eight special, both of which are the latest sportster models featuring h-d’s 1,200-cc evolution V-twin engine.
The Iron 1200 and forty-eight special form the latest addition to the sportster series and both bikes feature the 1,202-cc V-twin that produces 99 nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. apart from the introduction of the 1200 motor on the Iron, h-d have also gone retro with much of the design. you get an all-black treatment with hardly any chromed elements on the bike. It also gets a classic stripe paint job on the tank and a tiny bikini fairing. although the Iron 1200 has not yet been confirmed for India, we expect it to see it here before the fortyeight special, being a newer bike.
The forty-eight special, on the other hand, retains its puny, peanut fuel tank, fat front and rear wheels and tyres, chromed exhaust pipes, and single seat. harleydavidson have introduced new Tallboy handlebars and 1970’s stripe paint-job on the fuel tank. Internationally, the fortyeight special is priced exactly the same as the standard forty-eight and we expect the company to price the bike the same as the standard variant if launched in India.
